More than 30 years have passed since the disappearance and death of Faye Marie Norris Jackson, yet her case remains one of Allegheny County’s most disturbing unsolved mysteries.

Jackson, a 24-year-old wife and mother from Pittsburgh’s Garfield neighborhood, vanished on October 10, 1994. Just three days later, investigators made a gruesome discovery in a creek bed in Monroeville. Plastic bags containing severed portions of her body were recovered, but much of her remains have never been found.

Because her body was never recovered in full, medical authorities were unable to determine the exact cause of death. As a result, the case has remained complicated despite investigators treating it as a homicide investigation.

Years after the crime, Allegheny County homicide detectives announced they had received new information through an anonymous tip submitted to Crime Stoppers.

According to investigators, the tip suggested Jackson was transported in a white limousine to a motel or hotel in the Monroeville area, where she died. The information also indicated that more than one person may have been involved and that her body was later dismembered before portions were discarded in trash containers.

Detectives have never publicly identified the specific location where Jackson was killed, and they continue working to verify the information provided by the anonymous caller.

Authorities have also stated they do not believe Jackson’s death is connected to several other unsolved killings of women in Western Pennsylvania during the 1990s. Although some of the victims shared similar backgrounds, investigators have never found enough evidence to conclude the cases were committed by the same person or group.

Jackson struggled with difficult circumstances during her life, including prostitution and reports of abusive relationships. Friends from her childhood remembered her as a quiet young woman whose life took a tragic path as an adult.

Despite the decades that have passed, investigators have maintained that the case has never been forgotten. New information continues to be reviewed in hopes that someone with knowledge of what happened will finally come forward.
