Entrepreneur Spotlight: Greg Pavlovic’s Next Chapter with RE/MAX Select Realty

For many people, one career is enough. For Greg Pavlovic, building relationships and helping people has opened the door to multiple successful ventures.

Recently, Pavlovic joined RE/MAX Select Realty after making the move from K&S Real Estate, adding another exciting chapter to a career that already includes more than two decades in automotive sales and ownership of an Airbnb investment property.

Having sold cars since the age of 21, Pavlovic understands the importance of customer service, communication, and trust—qualities that have also helped him grow in the real estate industry over the past several years.

As he begins his journey with RE/MAX Select Realty, I caught up with Greg to discuss entrepreneurship, real estate, automotive sales, and what motivates him to continue growing both professionally and personally.

Tell us a little about yourself and your professional background.

I’m a Sales Consultant at Bowser Automotive in Pleasant Hills and a real estate agent with RE/MAX Select Realty. I’ve been in sales since I was 21 years old, and over that time helping people make big decisions has really become second nature to me.

Most people know me from the automotive industry because that’s where I’ve spent the majority of my career and where I’m at every day. That’s really been the foundation for everything I do, learning how to work with customers, build relationships, and get deals done the right way.

Over the last few years, I’ve also built a strong interest in real estate and investing. That started growing alongside my car business, and it’s become another way for me to help people build long term wealth while continuing to do what I already do every day in sales.

You’ve been selling cars since you were 21 years old. How did you first get into the automotive industry?

After graduating from University of Pittsburgh, I was struggling to find a job that paid what I felt my time and effort were worth. Most of the opportunities I came across had relatively low starting salaries, and I knew I wanted something with more upside where my income would be tied to my performance.

One day I answered a newspaper ad that said, “Make $100,000 selling cars.” It caught my attention, and the dealership was offering a six week training program for people who were new to the industry. I decided to give it a shot.

Once I got into it, I realized pretty quickly that I liked the pace, the competition, and the fact that what you put in is what you get out. The harder you work and the better you get, the more successful you can be.

When I first started, my sales manager was Dave Ross. He really helped train me early on and taught me the fundamentals of the business, how to talk to customers, how to handle deals, and how to carry myself the right way. I learned a lot from him in the beginning of my career and definitely credit him with helping shape the foundation I built on. I stuck with it from there, built my career in automotive sales, and never looked back.

What lessons from selling cars have helped you succeed in real estate?

Everything comes from car sales. Communication, negotiation, reading people, handling pressure, and keeping deals moving forward. Real estate is just a longer version of the same thing, bigger decisions but the same fundamentals.

When did you decide to get into real estate, and what inspired that move?

It wasn’t really a switch. I was already in sales every day, and real estate just started to make sense as another way to use the same skill set. Same foundation, just a different lane long term.

You’ve been balancing both automotive sales and real estate. What has that experience been like?

Busy, but I’m used to it. Car sales is still my main focus and where I spend most of my time. Real estate is something I’ve built alongside it. They actually work well together because both are relationship driven businesses. I also work closely with my girlfriend, Sam Stacknick, and honestly, we’re a great team. We collaborate when it makes sense and help clients through the process together.

Recently you made the move to RE/MAX Select Realty. What made that opportunity stand out?

The people, the reputation, and the environment. It felt like a place where I could keep learning and growing on the real estate side while still staying fully active in automotive.

What excites you most about joining the RE/MAX Select Realty team?

Just being around experienced agents and learning from them. Real estate is something I’m continuing to grow in, so having the opportunity to work alongside people who have been doing it successfully for years is valuable.

How would you describe your approach when working with buyers and sellers?

I keep it simple. I’m honest, direct, and I don’t overcomplicate things. I explain what’s going on, give real feedback, and help people make the right decision for their situation.

In your opinion, what are the biggest mistakes people make when buying a home?

Rushing and getting emotional. It’s easy to fall in love with a place, but you still have to step back and look at the numbers and the long-term picture.

You also own an Airbnb property. How did you get started in short term rental investing?

That started with my girlfriend, Sam Stacknick, who came across an online course about short term rentals and asked if I wanted to take it with her. We started learning about it together, and the more we understood it, the more it just made sense.

After that, she brought up the idea of moving in together and turning my place into an Airbnb.

Once we made the decision, we spent about a month getting it ready. After work and on weekends, we were constantly working on it, painting, furnishing, decorating, stocking everything, and getting the place fully set up for guests.

Sam was a huge part of it. A lot of the design, layout, and overall feel of the place came from her vision, and we both put in a ton of late nights getting it ready to launch. Once it went live, it picked up quickly and really validated all the work we put in.

What have you learned from owning and managing an Airbnb?

I’ve learned that success really comes down to the details. Guests see the finished product, but behind the scenes it takes consistency with cleaning, communication, maintenance, and making sure everything is set before every stay.

It’s also taught me a lot about customer service and consistency. Every guest expects the same experience, so you have to treat it like a system and make sure the standard never drops.

From an investing standpoint, it’s given me a better understanding of what it takes to run something like a real business, cash flow, expenses, and how small operational decisions can impact the overall experience and performance.

At the end of the day, small things make a big difference, and consistency is what keeps everything running the right way.

Do you have plans to expand your real estate investment portfolio in the future?

Yeah, definitely. The Airbnb was a great starting point, and I’d like to keep building from there when the right opportunities come up.

For someone interested in entrepreneurship, what advice would you give them?

Just start. Don’t wait until everything is perfect. If we waited until we knew everything about Airbnb, we probably never would’ve done it. You learn as you go.

How do you balance multiple businesses while still providing great service to your clients?

Car sales is still my main focus and where my day to day responsibility is. Everything else fits around that, and I stay organized so I can keep up with everything without dropping the ball on communication.

What are your goals for the rest of 2026 and beyond?

Keep growing in automotive sales and continue building my book of business there. At the same time, I want to keep developing on the real estate side over time and continue adding more properties for short term rentals. Just steady growth in both areas and building everything the right way as I go.

Is there anything else you’d like readers to know about Greg Pavlovic?

Car sales is where I built my career and where I still spend most of my time. That’s my foundation.

Everything else, real estate, and the Air BNB business grew from that. At the end of the day, I’m a car guy. I enjoy working deals, building relationships, and helping people make important decisions with confidence.

Whether someone has questions about buying a vehicle, purchasing a home, selling a property, or getting started with short term rentals, I’m always happy to help however I can.
